My Trip to Udaipur- Summing Up The Things To Do!
Warm greetings to every single reader of Varun’s blog; with the belief that my travel blogs prove useful for you guys, once again I am here with another tourist attraction in India. This time I am going to explore the colorful facets of Udaipur. Located in the western side of Rajasthan, this small city caught my attention when I was in school. The wonderful stories about the forts in Udaipur instantly grabbed my attention.
Udaipur- in love!
Though accountant is a challenging profession, but sometimes it does get a bit mundane. Hence, with the purpose to bring in some fun in life, I headed straight towards Udaipur, along with two best friends of mine. As a matter of fact, this city was established by Maharana Udai Singh II; hence the name. Well, without getting too much into the history, I will be sharing information about the things to do in Udaipur, as per my experience.
Enjoying things to do in Udaipur
During the exploration, it was easy for me to figure out the main specialty of Udaipur, and it lies in the art & craft of this city. Though I have been to several art & craft exhibitions and trade fairs, but they were nothing in comparison to what this city encompasses. When I was strolling in the local streets of Udaipur, I came across a lot of workshops where classes are offered on making various items with just papers!
The handcrafted stationary looked absolutely stunning, and initially it was hard for me and my friends to believe that they were made out of papers! Yes, I did purchase a paper-made purse and a gift box for my sister. For females, mehendi classes were also available.
In the beginning, it never appeared to me that cycling in Udaipur would be so much fun! As per my experience, I would definitely recommend it as one of the best activities to do in Udaipur. The professional cycling guides were really friendly and the journey started from Rao Ji Ka Hata. The ride took us through the beautiful and serene villages and we enjoyed the time thoroughly.
Delicious Food Dish of The Week – Aamras Ki Kadhi
Aamras Ki Kadhi – Who wouldn’t want to be replenished with the tingy- tangy sensational mango savor on a hot summer afternoon? Here the pulpy mango spill is added to buttermilk and prepared in a traditional way to excite the taste receptors to the maximum acme! Though fruit can be consumed in any form, this home- flasked sap is my all- time favorite recess drink.

Mesmerizing And Beautiful Coorg Resorts In The Laps Of Mother Nature!
Hey Guys, This is Varun Shenoy .I am an ace accountant and movie buff. But my passion is travelling. I love mountains and adventure and Nature and have been to several parts of this beautiful country. To escape the scorching summer heat I decided to head for a hill station and what could have been better than Coorg which is located in Karnataka. I took a bus from Bangalore to Coorg. Bus journey is economical and it took around 5 hours for me to reach Coorg. Next was to select the right place to stay. I decided to check out a few resorts in this Kashmir of Southern India!
The first resort that I checked from the large number of Coorg Resorts was Orange County in Siddapur which has a 5 star rating. The salient features are
- Luxurious villa style accommodation
- 3 dining restaurants serving the best food
- Spa and swimming pool
- Mesmerizing smell of coffee and spice
The second was Windflower Resorts and Spa which has the following key features:
- Spread over coffee estate it has a picturesque view
Beautiful and luxurious rooms - Infinity Pool surrounded by rosewood and teakwood trees
- Bar, lounge and restaurant facilities
The final one of the Coorg Resorts that I checked was Ambatty Greens Resort. This resort has:
- Comfortable deluxe rooms
- Several places of tourist attraction close by
- Surrounded by lush greenery
- Economical stay
- Restaurant with exotic cuisine
Though all the three resorts were wonderful I decided to check in at Ambatty Greens Resort. It was suitable for my pocket size and had all the basic amenities. It was close to several tourists hotspots. I visited Brahmagiri Wildlife Sanctuary, Chomamale Hill and St. Anne’s Church. I also went to Basavangudi Temple (Approx. 5km) and Clock Tower.
My 5 day stay in Coorg was a memorable one. As I boarded the bus to head back to Bangalore the images of this beautiful hill station lingered on in my mind. It was like watching a 70 mm cinemascope movie. The beauty of Coorg left me spellbound and speechless. It is one of the best places that I have visited so far and promised to come back to this beautiful place again!
Delicious Food Dish Of The Week – Rajsthani Laal Maas
Rajsthani Laal Maas Dish – There aren’t many Rajasthani dishes that are meat based and hence the Rajasthani Laal Maas came as complete surprise to me. It is prepared using mutton which is slow cooked on low flames with red chilli paste and other spices. It was fiery, delicious and pungent to taste and went very well with Rotis.
