The pleasure of taking Hyderabadi Biryani at Hyderabad is quite unique and this was really special. Being a foodie, I loved trying out different cuisines, but Hyderabadi Biriyani was really special. The flavor and the aroma that came from Biriyani were really awesome. I was mesmerized by the flavor and taste of Hyderabadi Biriyani. There were many Biriyani shops in Hyderabad but I preferred to take in from Biriyani House near to panjagutta which was quite famous and reputed. I happened to ask the staff in that hotel regarding the ingredients that they used for such special Biriyani dishes. It has been just the spices and technically that was totally different, making it a unique Biriyani.
Normally the trend of Biriyani was brought in Hyderabad by the Nizams when they ruled the state. They used Basmati rice, mutton, onions, different spices, lemons, yogurt and saffron. Various other local spices were used which gave that aroma to the Biriyani flavor. Normally the preferred meat in Biriyani was mutton, but now chicken are also used. This gave the variation and change in the taste as well. This time I preferred Mutton biriyani but I thought to have Chicken Biriyani the next time. Actually the trend of Biriyani was brought into the country by the Mughals and known as an Afgani dish, with time this blended with the Telugu Cuisines during the period of Nizams. This resulted in the famous Hyderabadi Biriyani and was known worldwide.
Even the hotel staff also told me that the Hyderabadi Biriyani was of two types, namely the Kachchi which meant raw and the Pakki which was cooked. After enjoying my lunch with the famous Hyderabadi Biryani at Hyderabad it was a perfect lunch and then I decided to start my excursion in the city. My first destination was the Birla temple in Hyderabad; which was one of the famous and well designed temples in Hyderabad. The temple has a rich history associated with it and was situated near to the Hussain Sagar. There was the famous Lumbini Park, where bomb blast took place a few years ago. The Temple was situated at the hill top.
